General
1. Is eLaunch really free?
The eLaunch program is distributed as Freeware. This means there is no charge for the program, no need to register for using the program and there is no nagging, or hidden spying. While eLaunch is Freeware, it is not in the public domain. This means C Thing Software holds the copyright and there is a straightforward, common sense license associated with using the software.     [top]
2. Why is eLaunch free?
We love writing software and we love enabling people to do great things with the software we write. To us that is what giving back to the community means.     [top]

12. What version of Eclipse is supported by eLaunch?
The eLaunch program is written for Eclipse 3.1. However, since eLaunch allows arbitrary Eclipse command line arguments to be specified, any older or newer version of Eclipse should work with eLaunch. Note that not all Eclipse configuration parameters available on the eLaunch configuration dialog may be supported by a version of Eclipse older or newer than 3.1.     [top]
13. Does eLaunch require Java and Eclipse?

Using eLaunch
14. How do I convert my Eclipse desktop icons into eLaunch configurations?

15. What is the fastest way to run Eclipse using eLaunch?
There are many was to run Eclipse from eLaunch. One of the fastest methods is to enable eLaunch to be part of the Windows shell context menu. This is accomplished by setting the appropriate eLaunch preference. Refer to the eLaunch help for instructions. Another quick way to run Eclipse from eLaunch, is to access the desired launch configuration from the Windows Start Menu.     [top]
16. Is the help worth reading?
Yes. Not just because we took the time to write it, but because eLaunch provides a number of time saving features for working with Eclipse. We have attempted to make eLaunch a relatively obvious and straightforward program to use but inevitably some features are less obvious than others. The documentation is divided into two major sections. One section describes each feature and the other section provides a task oriented explanation of the program. Please take at least a few minutes to browse the documentation.     [top]
