Users of the Eclipse IDE quickly find that they accumulate a number of desktop shortcuts for running one or more copies of Eclipse using various workspaces. This leads to clutter on the desktop and makes it a challenge to describe and share the Eclipse configurations. The eLaunch program was created to eliminate this clutter and to manage Eclipse configurations.
Using the eLaunch program, multiple Eclipse configurations can be created and managed within a single tool. Eclipse can be run using any of the configurations and through its integration with the Windows environment, an Eclipse configuration can be run directly from either the Start Menu or optionally from the shell context menu.
The first step to using eLaunch is to create Eclipse configurations. This can be done by pressing the New... button on the main window and entering the configuration information in the configuration dialog. A faster way to get started is to import existing desktop shortcuts.
Refer to the eLaunch FAQ for additional information on using the eLaunch program.
